About Worth & Why
Worth & Why is an independently operated Australian consumer-information website. It helps people make better everyday purchases by teaching a decision method they can reuse. Worth & Why does not sell products itself.
Who runs it
Worth & Why is an independently owned and operated Australian publication. “Worth & Why” is a registered Australian business name.
Editorial decisions—what to cover, what to conclude, and how to explain it—are made independently by Worth & Why and are not controlled by any brand, retailer, or marketplace.
Why it exists
A good buying decision comes from a repeatable process: work out what you need, compare like for like, understand the true cost, and check the seller and the claims. Worth & Why sets out that process in a small number of carefully written guides, with sources you can check and judgement that is clearly labelled as judgement.
What “independent” means here
No brand, retailer, or marketplace has any say over what is published here, and none pays for coverage. Worth & Why currently uses no affiliate links and receives no commissions from links on this website. If a commercial arrangement is ever introduced, it will be disclosed on the pages it affects and recorded on the disclosure page, and it will not change an editorial conclusion.
Guidance is built from publicly available information, published standards, and stated reasoning. Where something has not been examined first-hand, the guide says so.
Corrections
Mistakes are corrected openly. Each guide shows when it was last reviewed, and a material correction is noted with its date. If something here is wrong or out of date, please tell us — see the contact page.
